Apollo Net was founded in 2025 to fill a much-needed gap: affordable broadband for everyone who needs it, anywhere from Alaska to Hawaii to North Carolina (our home) to Puerto Rico.
We don’t offer tons of plans or impose artificial speed limits. Instead, we offer one simple, reliable plan that delivers exactly what it promises: fast speeds at a low cost – a cost that will never increase. Unlike other ISPs that tease low monthly rates, there is no fine print requiring costly bundle tie-ins like cellphone service or cable TV. More importantly, we will never come back to you after a year and start raising the price bit-by-expensive-bit.
Apollo Net believes broadband is a utility: a crucial service that we all need to live and thrive, just like water and electricity, and that it should be priced accordingly. That’s why our mission statement is so simple: to provide low-cost broadband access to families, communities and students.
We are proud to partner with community groups as we grow and spread across the country. These partnerships allow us to provide other supplementary services to families such as access to computers and digital literacy and other programs. We are proudest of our first partnership with Kramden Institute, one of the country’s oldest digital inclusion nonprofit who has positively impacted hundreds of thousands through computer access and digital literacy programs.
Leadership Team
Michael Abensour
Michael is CEO of Apollo Net, a social enterprise providing affordable, broadband internet access to communities and families across the country. He brings more than 15 years of digital inclusion experience to closing the digital divide, most recently as Chief Impact Officer at Comp-U-Dopt. Prior to that, he was SVP of Policy and Advocacy at Human-I-T, following ten years as Executive Director of Kramden Institute, where he drove major growth in the organization’s digital literacy, digital navigator, and computer refurbishing programs.
Before entering the nonprofit sector, Michael spent his first professional decade in Washington, D.C., working in campaign management, fundraising, and international relations. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from UNC Chapel Hill and an M.A. in Political Management from George Washington University, and serves locally on several boards.
Thijs van de Kamp
Thijs is Chief Technology Officer of Apollo Net, a social enterprise providing affordable, broadband internet access to communities and families across the country. He brings extensive technical operations and digital inclusion experience to closing the digital divide, most recently as Vice President of Network Connectivity Partnerships at Compudopt. Prior to that, he was Technology Manager at Kramden Institute, where he drove major infrastructure improvements and managed the organization’s enterprise-grade deployment and computer refurbishing operations.
